The high school setting makes this story instantly familiar (for better or for worse) the sci-fi adventure element plays to our universal fantasy of escaping high school (also a double-edged sword). “Beyond Infinity” is loaded with number trivia and math tricks – and a fair bit of cultural history, mythology, and science – from start to finish, and has a compelling, engaging story, as well. What fun! I am a moderate number enthusiast, and find math fascinating (if often baffling), but I don’t hold a candle to Charles Ames Fischer and his central character, Matt (or, should I say,“MatheMatt”). ![]()
